July Jobless Rates Increase Around Northeast Indiana

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Northeast Indiana counties saw their jobless rates increase from June to July.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development has released the numbers for the month of July. LaGrange County had the largest increase over the month going from 3.2% to 4.6%.

Steuben County went up from 3.7% to 4.4%. DeKalb County saw an increase from 3.3% to 3.8% while Noble County jumped from 3.4% to 4.5%. Allen County grew from 3.5% to 4%. Elkhart County had an increase from 3.9% to 5.1%.

Cities around Northeast Indiana also saw their unemployment go up from June to July. Goshen had the biggest increase from 3.8% to 5.6%. Elkhart saw their unemployment go from 4.6% to 5.3% and Fort Wayne grew from 3.6% to 4.1%.
