(ANGOLA) - If you're looking to turn winter break into a thrill ride, the famous toboggan run at Pokagon State Park is officially back in action -- and running extended hours. The refrigerated toboggan run doesn't need snow, sending riders down a 1,780-foot, dual-lane track at speeds of nearly 40 miles an hour. Each toboggan holds up to four people, making it a popular group adventure for families and friends.
The cost is 20 dollars per hour, per toboggan, and gloves are required to ride.
During winter break, the toboggan run is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through January 4, except Christmas Day. After that, it will operate weekends only, Saturdays and Sundays, through March 1, 2026.
Visitors should also plan for the park's entrance fee -- seven dollars per Indiana vehicle and nine dollars for out-of-state vehicles.
Park officials say it's a chance to make winter memories that last long after the snow melts.
