BRANCH COUNTY, Mich. (WLKI) - A 49-year-old woman was arrested Saturday morning after a traffic stop in Branch County led deputies to suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The Branch County Sheriff's Office says a deputy stopped a black 2011 Kia Forte around 8:39 a.m. September 5 on Dunks Road near Arbogast Road.
During the investigation, the deputy found suspected methamphetamine, suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, according to the sheriff's office.
Field testing of the suspected substances produced positive results for methamphetamine and psilocybin, authorities said.
The driver was arrested on allegations of possession of methamphetamine and possession of hallucinogens. She was taken to the Branch County Jail without incident.
The sheriff's office says deputies will continue investigating drug-related activity and working to remove illegal drugs from Branch County communities.
The charges are allegations, and the woman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
