Joe Peters, Director of the Steuben County Festival Choir and Co-Conductor of the Old Crown Brass Band, joins Andy St. John on WLKI 100.3 to celebrate the season with details on two major holiday concert traditions.
Handel's beloved English oratorio, Messiah, has been a Steuben County tradition. Joe discusses the history of the music and the upcoming performance featuring the largest-ever Festival Choir (78 singers!) and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Players--a spectacular total of 101 musicians on stage at the T Furth Center For Performing Arts at Trine University.
Joe also previews the exciting new holiday concert being introduced by The Old Crown Brass Band, sharing details on the unique British brass band sound (cornets, tenor horns, and more!) and the magic of brass at Christmastime.
