(MUNCIE) - Hundreds gathered at Delta High School in Muncie on Saturday to honor Corporal Blake Reynolds, the Delaware County deputy killed earlier this month when a semi struck his patrol vehicle on I-89 near Yorktown. He had been assisting a disabled truck at the time. Pastor Brian White told mourners that law enforcement wasn't just Reynolds' job -- it was his calling, lived out with courage and devotion. His wife, Allie, thanked first responders and the community for their overwhelming support, saying her husband truly believed he was created to protect and serve. Delaware County Sheriff Tony Skinner called Reynolds the model of what a deputy should be, saying his final act -- helping a stranger -- showed who he was at his core. Reynolds' brother, Dustin, reminded officers that the badge binds them together, a bond Blake deeply understood. His father said his son "finished the race well" and expressed hope in seeing him again someday.

Corporal Reynolds was laid to rest at Jones Cemetery with full honors, including a gun salute and a bagpipe procession. Deputies from the Steuben County Sheriff's Department were proudly part of the Honor Guard Team at the ceremony.
