(ANGOLA) - Steuben County residents dealing with high water or flooding concerns can now pick up free sand and sandbags from the Steuben County Highway Department.
Emergency Management says the self-service sandbag station is set up at 1900 North 200 West in Angola, directly across from Lawnscape Garden Center and the entrance to the Steuben County Fairgrounds.
Residents should enter the south drive and continue to the back right side of the property, where the materials are staged.
The county is providing both the sand and the bags at no cost, but residents need to bring their own shovels, any extra help needed to fill bags, and a vehicle to haul them away.
There is no set limit, with EMA saying residents can take what they need, within reason, as flooding concerns continue across the area.
