(ANGOLA) - A major redevelopment plan for the former Bledsoe's Lake James Mobile Home Park just north of Four Corners is moving forward after conditional approval from the Steuben County Plan Commission.

The proposal covers property at 3995 North 300 West and could bring a new housing development with condominiums for more than 200 families.

Plans also include the possibility of a restaurant and fitness center as part of the broader mixed-use concept.

The developer, G 6, LLC, is seeking approval for single-family, multi-family and commercial use on the property.

The project would replace the long-known mobile home park site with a significantly larger residential footprint and added commercial amenities.

Everyone from the public who spoke at Wednesday night's meeting voiced opposition to the proposal.

The conditional approval means the developer must still satisfy commission requirements before moving ahead.

The project is scheduled to return to the Steuben County Plan Commission on Wednesday, May 6 at 5 p.m. at the Steuben County Community Center.

At this point, that meeting will only reopen public comment if the developer fails to meet the conditions or if the proposal changes.
