(COLDWATER) - Infrastructure work is underway in Coldwater this week, including a traffic signal replacement and continued lead line upgrades.

Crews have started a $42,000 project to replace the aging signal at State and Marshall Streets. The upgrade will include energy-efficient LED lights and a new controller to address frequent malfunctions.

At the same time, the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities is continuing its long-term effort to replace lead water service lines across the city.

Work began this week on Morse Street and will continue through April, with crews operating daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The street will remain open, but drivers are urged to use caution in construction areas.

City officials say the lead line replacement project is expected to continue through 2033.
