Steuben County SWCD Annual Meeting

March 11, 2026

The Steuben County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) invites the public to attend their 2026 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Cameron Health Joyce & Al Gutstein Education and Innovation Center, located at 407 E. South Street, Angola, IN 46703.


Doors will open at 5:45 p.m., with a complimentary dinner served at 6:00 p.m. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. featuring keynote speaker Marissa Renz, Professional Permaculture Designer, Certified Pollinator Steward, and Owner of Plant Happiness, LLC. Marissa will discuss Land Restoration through Regenerative Management, highlighting practical approaches that can be applied to any size space - from backyard gardens to large rural landscapes.


Following the presentation, the Steuben County SWCD will provide a brief overview of 2025 conservation activities and accomplishments. The evening will also include the election of one (1) Board Supervisor position. Nominations will be accepted from the floor on March 11th. To serve as an elected supervisor, an individual must: (1) occupy a tract of land located within the district; (2) maintain permanent residence within the district; and (3) be qualified by training & experience to perform the duties outlined in Indiana Code.


The Annual Meeting is open to the public. Those wishing to attend the dinner are asked to register by March 4, 2026, to assist with meal planning. All Steuben County land occupiers and anyone interested in natural resource conservation, agriculture, and water quality are encouraged to attend. In the event hazardous road conditions restrict travel, the meeting will be rescheduled for March 18, 2026.
