(FREMONT) - Fremont Community Schools is beginning the search for its next Fremont High School principal, using a transition plan that will allow the selected candidate to step into the role gradually.
The district is seeking an administrator who will serve as assistant principal during the 2026-27 school year before assuming full principal duties for the 2027-28 school year. During the first year, the new hire will work alongside the current principal while gaining experience in all aspects of school leadership.
According to the district, the position will focus heavily on student conduct, attendance and overall school operations, along with oversight of special education services, staff supervision and coordination with parents, community agencies and emergency services. The role also includes responsibilities related to curriculum support, school improvement planning, extracurricular supervision and financial oversight.
Candidates must hold a master's degree in school leadership, have at least three years of teaching or administrative experience, and possess a valid Indiana administrative license. The position will follow a 210-day contract during the assistant principal year and a 215-day contract once the principal transition is complete.
School officials say the phased approach is designed to ensure continuity and stability at Fremont High School while preparing the next principal for long-term leadership of the building.
