Victim Identified In Alleged Auburn Murder Case

AUBURN - The woman who was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend has been identified by authorities.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's office identified the victim as Hannah Fields, 25, of Auburn.

The Auburn police confirmed that Matthew Urzua, 22, of Auburn was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder.

In the early hours of Saturday, March 30 Auburn City Police Officers responded to the area of 900 Griswold Court for a welfare check.

Upon arrival officers found a young woman, later identifies as Fields, deceased.

Officers arrested Urzua for his involvement in this incident, and is
currently being held on a preliminary charge of murder.

No other individuals are believed to be involved at this time

The DeKalb County Prosecutor's office stated they are working with officials from the Indiana State Police, the Auburn Police Department, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office, and the Parkview Police Department.

The investigation is still ongoing and evidence is still being collected by
law enforcement.
