INDIANA - Prairie Heights's Agriculture teacher had been named one of eight finalists for the Golden Owl award.

Ron Knoll of Prairie Heights Community Schools is not only the Agriculture instructor, but he is also the FFA Advisor.

The Golden Owl Award is through the National FFA Agriculture Education program and it recognizes outstanding agricultural educators.

The FFA website states, "Students, fellow teachers, and other supporters can nominate their favorite agricultural teacher and summarize what makes them the best in Indiana."

"Presented by Nationwide, Indiana FFA, and Farm Credit Mid-America, the Golden Owl Award recognizes agricultural educators across Indiana for their tremendous contributions to help the next generation of agricultural leaders."

Nominees have an opportunity to win the title of Indiana Agricultural Educator of the Year and great cash prizes.

The winners will be announced June at the 2024 State Convention that will be held from June 17-20 at Purdue University.
