Braden Rogers Named 2024 LaGrange Lilly Scholarship Winner

LAGRANGE – The LaGrange County Community Foundation has announced the winner of the 2024 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

Braden Rogers, a senior at Westview High School was named the winner out of five finalists.

Rogers will graduate in June with academic honors and intends to purse a degree in landscape architecture at either Purdue University or Ball State University.

Rogers is involved in school government and is the goalie for the Westview boys soccer team. He is also a member of the National Honor Society. Rogers participates in school musicals and most recently held the lead in musical “Grease”.

Rogers also founded the Westview Ski club and is involved in Special Outdoor Leisure Opportunities, which provides opportunities for people with mental and physical limitations to experience downhill skiing with a friend or instructor.

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship will provide Rogers with full tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and equipment for four years.

The other finalists, Taylor Jordon and Xia Leu of Lakeland along with Christien Noward and Jace Lang of Westview, will each receive the Lambright Leadership Scholarship, which is a $1,000 renewable scholarship.

It may be renewed up to three more years.
