Indiana Toll Road Pursuit Ends With Crash In St. Joseph County

FAWN RIVER TOWNSHIP – A high speed pursuit that started on the Indiana Toll Road ended in St. Joseph County’s Fawn River Township.

Indiana State Police say that troopers tried to stop a white BMW that was traveling over 100 MPH east on the Indiana Toll Road near the 114 mile marker in LaGrange County Sunday night. The vehicle kept going east and was clocked at speeds over 150 MPH.

The vehicle left the Toll Road at the Howe/Sturgis exit and led police into Fawn River Township, where it eventually crashed in the 70,000 block of Kime Road.

The driver, 19 year old Adrian Martinez of Homer Glen, Illinois, had a head wound. He was taken to Parkview LaGrange Hospital to be treated for his injury. Once he was released from the hospital, Martinez was arrested on multiple charges and booked into the LaGrange County Jail.

Assisting with the pursuit and the investigation were the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.
