COLDWATER – A Bronson man has been sentenced in connection with a fatal crash that happened in May 2022.
Branch County Circuit Court officials says 19 year old Dylan Sadger was given a one year jail sentence and two years probation, with the sentence suspended over nine months. In July, Branch County Prosecutor Zach Stempien accepted a plea of no contest to reckless driving causing serious impairment, and dismissed a charge of reckless driving causing death.
On May 20, 2022, Michigan State Police say Sadger’s SUV was traveling east on Sikorski Road near Gilead Lake Road in Bethel Township. Sadger failed to stop at the intersection, and struck a vehicle that was southbound.
Both automobiles ended up in the ditch.
58 year old Laurie Bradley of Bath, Michigan was a passenger in the second vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle she was in, Todd Bradley and Sadger were taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
Two Bronson teenagers were in Sadger’s SUV, and were transported to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital to be treated for their injuries.
The case was originally assigned to Branch County Juvenile Court, since Sadger was five days away from his 18th birthday when the accident happened. It was transferred to Branch County Circuit Court in April.
Stempien says he spoke with Bradley’s family before accepting the plea agreement.
