(JOHNSON TOWNSHIP) – One person was taken to the hospital following a two vehicle crash.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office was called out to Johnson Township just after 5:30 PM on Wednesday.

Deputies determined that 69 year old Deborah Estrada of Rome City was driving a Honda mini van south on County Road 300 East, and attempted to stop at the intersection of County Road 450 South. Estrada told deputies her foot slipped off the brake pedal and she entered the intersection. She crossed over into the other lane and was struck by an SUV driven by 33 year old Matthew Schwartz of Wolcottville.

Estrada was initially treated at the scene for chest and leg pain and then transported to Parkview Noble Hospital for further care. Schwartz signed off with the medics at the scene.
