SCHOOLCRAFT – Michigan State Police have released updated information on an accident that injured a 14 year old girl.

Troopers from the Paw Paw Post were called to U.S. 131 at Lyons Street in Schoolcraft Monday afternoon.

A 14-year-old girl was crossing the street, which was backed up by construction work. Troopers originally said the girl was struck by a semi, and taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

However, Tuesday morning Troopers issued an updated release with new information.

Their investigation determined the 14 year old ran into the roadway, and was struck by a bus that was heading south. The impact of the collision pushed the girl into a semi that was stopped in the northbound lane.

The girl was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. No other information has been released on her condition.
