ALBION – Multiple felony charges have been brought against an Albion man.

Noble County Superior Court officials say Daniel Portmess has been charged with two counts dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance.

He was arrested July 26 following multiple search warrants that were executed at 2118 North County Road 650 West in Kimmell.

The Indiana State Police, the Noble County Sheriff’s Department and the Ligonier Police Department were involved in searching the property.

The search and the arrest came after a long term investigation by the Noble County Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigation Unit.

They allegedly purchased methamphetamine on two different occasions from Portmess.

It’s also alleged that fentanyl was detected during those buys.

Police also found a shotgun during the search.

Officers also arrested 38 year old April Johnson of Cromwell on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge of visiting a common nuisance.

No bond was set for Portmess, while Johnson’s bond was set at $2,500.
