ANGOLA — Early voting in Steuben County's municipal primary election reportedly brought in 382 voters.

According to the Steuben County Clerk’s Office, the recent numbers are much larger than the turn out for early voting during the 2019 municipal election where the early voter turnout number was 48.

Prior to in person voting on Election Day, Tuesday, May 2, there were 359 people who voted in person and 23 who voted by mail, for the County’s contested races.

In Angola, there's a very competitive race for the Republican nomination for mayor between Colleen Everage and Common Councilman Dave Martin.

A big issue on the ballot for voters in Fremont is a referendum question that will help add funds for the operating budget of Fremont Community Schools for the next eight years. A vote of “yes” on this ballot issue would continue the existing working referendum for the Fremont School District.
