Pokagon Toboggan Run Has Temporarily Closed For A Few Days; Reopening By Weekend
Wednesday, January 4, 2023

ANGOLA, IN – On Tuesday the Pokagon Toboggan Run closed as officials worked to clear the ice from the track and replace it.

The temporary closure is a result of how thick the ice became over the last couple of weeks.

Officials at Pokagon State Park say the ice got up to 2 to 3 inches thick, which makes the track hard to maintain. It is a standard practice that toboggan crews change the ice at least a few times a season.

Tuesday’s warmer temperatures made it the perfect time to pull the ice and do the work. Crews will work to replacing the ice on Wednesday and Thursday.

Park officials expect the Toboggan Run to be back open by the weekend.
