Authorities Investigating Thursday Night Shooting Where One Man Has Died

STURGIS, MI - Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating a Thursday night shooting where one man was killed.

Authorities in Sturgis were called just after 6 PM to an area in the 1700 block of South Central Road in the city of Sturgis on a report of a shooting.

A male subject in his early 30s was found in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was the. transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. The male subject passed away a short time later as a result of his injuries.

At this time the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident, and there is no further threat to the public.

The Sturgis Public Safety Department is continuing the investigation into the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact them at 269-651-3231.

Sturgis Police were assisted Thursday night on the scene by the Michigan State Police and the St. Joseph County Sheriffs Department.
