ANGOLA, IN - Andy Laughlin was officially sworn into his new position with the Steuben County Board of Commissioners.
He was joined at the Steuben County Clerk’s Office Thursday his wife staff and family.
Worden Sherie Jacquay conducted the ceremony using the Bible of Laughlin’s grandmother, Marilyn Krouse Bliss.
Laughlin says he looks forward to beginning his new job as Commissioner. He has already been preparing by spending the last couple months attending meetings, completing trainings, and talking with many local leaders.
Laughlin remarked in a written statement, “I want to thank Clint Knauer and the building department for a great 5 years. My time there was invaluable in learning about all corners of the county, and I’m glad I will get to continue a relationship with them.
Lynne Liechty for her grace and kindness in passing the torch. She has already helped me make many more local, regional, and state contacts that will be extremely beneficial. I wish her all the best in her next endeavors.”
Laughlin said, “Wil Howard, Commissioner President, and Rick Shipe, Steuben County Council President, both reached out and got him up to speed on current projects and issues.
Upon bring sworn in as Commissioner, he also completed paperwork for the position that officially begins his term on January 1st, 2023.
