ANGOLA – The Angola Fire Department welcomed their new Engine #2 on Monday and retired Engine #1 on Thursday.

The new Engine #2 is a 2022 Spencer Tanker Pumper built in South Heaven, Michigan.

The new engine is 35 feet long and can hold 1,800 gallons of water. It took approximately 18 months to arrive.

The old engine #1 is a 2001 American Lafrance Engine that has served the Angola Fire Department for the last 20 years.

Engine #1 is being donated Thursday to One World Medic, a nonprofit organization taking the engine down to Mexico to serve a fire department in need.

Angola Fire Chief Doug Call said, “the new engine is going to give us a lot more capability for the rural areas and lake areas with limited access to fire hydrants.”

Engine #2 can be seen at the Angola Fire Department.
