(CENTREVILLE) – The Centreville Board of Education is looking to hire an interim superintendent for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year.

The Board of Education held a special meeting Monday and voted to find an interim superintendent for the rest of the current school year. The interim superintendent would take over for Stephanie Lemmer, who announced she was resigning from Centreville after she accepted the job of Superintendent for the Battle Creek Pennfield School District.

Lemmer will leave her position in Centreville by the end of this month.

The Centreville School Board did discuss the possibility of hiring a full time superintendent now, but decided to wait until later in the school year, which is a more traditional time for finding a superintendent.

The Board also said they would reach out to some organizations and see if they would help in the search for a permanent superintendent.
