(THREE RIVERS) – Twenty people took advantage of free rides on New Year’s Eve offered by the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority.

The CTA offered their Free Ride Home program from 8 PM Friday until 2 AM Saturday. Two buses were available on the east and west sides of the County to take people from their homes to a party, or from a party to their homes. No party to party runs were made and the locations had to be in St. Joseph County.

CTA Executive Director Allen Balog says 20 people took advantage of the free rides. There were 11 rides on the east side of the county and 9 on the west side.

The cost to do this program is $800. Balog says they did get some sponsors to help with the cost. In addition, he said the Three Rivers Eagles did a 50-50 raffle at their New Year’s Eve party, with $310 coming to the CTA.
