Sturgis Man Arrested On Drug Charges

(LAGRANGE) – The new year didn't start well for a Sturgis man.

The LaGrange Police Department says at 11:16 Friday night, they made a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Factory and Detroit Streets in LaGrange. During the stop, officers found indicators and called for a K-9 officer to search the vehicle.

K-9 Officer Dax and his handler did a free air sniff of the automobile and alerted to narcotics. Officers searched the vehicle where they found approximately 65 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and 30 hypodermic needles.

Police arrested 41 year old Jonathon Collins of Sturgis on three felony charges of dealing meth; possession of meth and possession of hypodermic needles. He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.

Collins is being held in the LaGrange County Jail.
