(THREE RIVERS) – A 39 year old Three Rivers resident is dead after being struck by a vehicle.

Members of the Three Rivers Police and Fire Departments were called to the intersection of North Main and Cushman Streets just after 5:30 PM Monday for a car versus pedestrian accident.

Police determined the pedestrian was walking across North Main Street and was struck by a vehicle that was traveling south. The victim was treated at the scene by first responders, but died from their injuries.

The name of the victim has not been released, pending the notification of family members. The accident remains under investigation.

Assisting with the investigation are the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department and the White Pigeon Police Department.
