FREMONT, IN – Fire officials have determined the cause and damage estimates for a barn fire that happened Christmas Eve.

Investigators say a skid steer parked next to some hay bales is being listed as the cause of the fire that destroyed a large barn in northeast Steuben County on Christmas Eve. Firefighters from three states battled the fire at 7660 North 875 East.

Total damages are estimated over $500,000.
