SILVER CREEK TOWNSHIP – A two vehicle crash injured three people in Cass County's Silver Creek Township.

Sheriff's Department officials say deputies were called to the intersection of M-51 and M-152 just after 5:30 PM Saturday. The investigation determined that 39 year old Christina Gindelberger of Dowagiac was driving east on M-152 when she pulled out in front of a pick up driven by 51 year old William Strand of Gobles, who was heading south on M-51.

Strand was unable to avoid Gindelberger and struck her vehicle, and both automobiles went off the road. Gindelberger and her son, 15 year old Lamar Jackson, were taken to Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo to be treated for their injuries. A passenger in the Strand vehicle, 71 year old Charlotte Valentine of Gobles, was transported to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac. Everyone was wearing their safety belt at the time of the crash.

Assisting deputies at the scene were the Pokagon Tribal Police, the Dowagiac Police, the Sister Lakes Fire Department, Marcellus Ambulance Service and Pride Care Ambulance Service.
