FLORENCE TOWNSHIP – Two people have been arrested on drug related charges following a weekend incident.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says his deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding on Centreville-Constantine Road near Engle Road at 9:14 PM Friday. The driver, and sole occupant, was a 47 year old Constantine man. While searching the automobile, deputies located approximately two pounds of meth and a substantial amount of money.

The driver was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on charges of possession of meth with intent to deliver. A search warrant was obtained for the man's house in Florence Township. Deputies say a second suspect, a 35 year old Constantine woman, was at the residence. Officers found an additional 48 grams of meth along with paraphernalia used to package and sell the drug. They also seized six catalytic converters which are suspected to be stolen.
