SHERMAN TOWNSHIP – One person was injured in a one vehicle accident.

According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department, at 10:20 AM Tuesday, a 65 year old Colon woman was driving south on Shimmel Road, just north of Banker Street Road, in Sherman Township. Deputies say the women veered off the road and struck a tree.

The driver was taken to Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo by Life Care Ambulance to be treated for her injuries. Her passengers were her 13 and 15 year old grandsons, who were not injured.

Investigators say all occupants had their seatbelts on. Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash. The Tri-Township Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
