MILTON TOWNSHIP – A Elkhart woman was killed in a one vehicle crash in Cass County's Milton Township.

Sheriff Richard Behnke says just after 2 AM Sunday, his department was called to investigate a crash on U.S. 12 east of Anderson Road. Deputies determined that 34 year old Casey Butler lost control of her vehicle on U.S. 12, going off the roadway and overturning. Butler was pronounced dead at the scene from her injuries. Behnke says it's not known if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. Butler was not wearing a seat belt.

Assisting at the scene were the Edwardsburg Fire and Police Departments, Michigan State Police and the Southwest Michigan Community Ambulance Service. The case is still under investigation.
