BRANCH COUNTY - Sunday morning Branch County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a personal injury accident involving 59 year old Robert Cook of Union City MI, who was struck by an unknown driver.

According to the Branch County Sheriff’s Office press release, witnesses state that they had seen the victim struck by a passing SUV as the driver had just stepped from his pickup to pick up some items left along the curb. The suspect vehicle fled the scene. Cook was transported to Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black SUV, clean, with a white sticker on the hatch. There is possible damage to the right side front fender and mirror.
