UNDATED – Consumer's Energy wants to let people know that assistance is available if they need help in paying their heating bill.

If you are having difficulty in paying your bill this winter season, Consumer's Energy says you can call the company at 1-800-477-5050 to discuss flexible payment options. You can also contact 211 or go on line to www.mi211.org.

Another option is to apply for State Emergency Relief directly for bill payment assistance. That can be done by visiting www.michigan.gov/mibridges.

You can also apply for a home heating credit by going to www.michigan.gov/treasury to see if you qualify.

In addition, the COVID Emergency Rental Assistance Program can provide rental and utility assistance for eligible renter households so that they retain their housing stability.
