DECATUR, IN – An incident with police as landed a Kendallville man in jail. Indiana State Police say at 10 PM Thursday, a trooper conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle equipment violation on U.S. 27 in Decatur. During the course of the investigation, 25 year old Tyler Alt of Kendallville, apparently became non compliant with the trooper's verbal commands. It turned physical with the trooper putting Alt on the ground and arresting him.

Further investigation discovered Alt was operating on a suspended driver's license and was found to be in possession of a suspected controlled substance. Alt was taken to the Adams County Jail where he is being held on misdemeanor charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of a schedule II controlled substance and operating while suspended.
