UNDATED – Alcohol and speed may have been contributing factors in a one vehicle accident over the weekend.
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says 26-year-old Jacob Young of Elkhart was driving north on County Road 29 near County Road 52 just after 10:30 Sunday night. His pickup went off the east side of the road for an unknown reason, struck a tree, and then slid through a fence before coming to rest in a field. Young had a cut to his head and was taken to Goshen General Hospital by the Jackson Township Medics.
Indiana State Police are investigating Young for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
