LaGrange County Sheriff To Purchase Body Cams
By: Mike Stiles - Tuesday, October 20, 2020

LAGRANGE – The LaGrange County Sheriff's Department has been given permission to purchase body cameras for their deputies.

Sheriff Jeff Campos made a presentation to the LaGrange County Commission during their Monday meeting about getting the cams for his department. Campos says the State will be mandating these in the future. He has a quote from Tech Solutions which the County uses for camera systems in three
different buildings and the Jail. Campos says the body cams could link into the system so the County wouldn't need extra storage.

The cost for the cameras is $25,743.38.

Campos says he worked with County Auditor Kathy Hopper and believes there is enough money in the budget to purchase them. However, he would like to wait until close to the end of the year, just in case something should come up that would affect his budget.

The Commission approved the request by a unanimous vote.
