COLDWATER, MI - Several occupants of a residential home were able to escape a Sunday morning blaze.

The Coldwater Fire Department was called to a structure early Sunday morning in the 100 block of South Jefferson. First arriving units reported smoke and fire from the first floor window.

Fire crews forced entry through the front door to make the initial attack.

It was reported that occupants had exited the residence via a second story window.

Coldwater Fire Department officials said the fire was quickly contained and under control. Emergency units were on scene for just over an hour to make sure hot-spots were contained and cooled down.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.

Assisting the Coldwater Fire Department on scene were units from the Coldwater Police Department and LifeCare Ambulance.
