ANGOLA, IN - The Angola Police Department is reminding the public and area businesses to use caution when accepting cash as payment.

Officials say there has been a recent increase in counterfeit money, and it has been several different currency bills. Most financial institutions advise that if you are taking in paper money and have a doubt, do not accept the payment, and ask the customer to provide a different source of payment.

If a counterfeit bill is produced, call your nearest law enforcement agency.
