ANGOLA, IN - As the state of Indiana moves forward with the Back on Track Indiana reopening stages, Steuben County Health Department Officials say “it is still necessary for residents and visitors to socially distance at least 6 feet, wash hands with soap and water often, cover your sneezes and coughs, and wear a face covering when recommended”. In a news release Monday morning from the Steuben County Health Department, they stated that these measures will help keep the community safe and keep the number of COVID-19 diagnosed patients as low as possible.

County officials are still urging all community members and visitors to the county to practice social responsibility in their daily lives.

Steuben County has a total of 105 COVID-19 positive cases, 72 individuals considered recovered from COVID-19 disease, and 2 death associated with COVID-19.

At this time, the number of test results will no longer be reported locally in the form of a press release; however, numbers will still be reported to the State Health Department. With many agencies preforming testing, county officials would not be able to keep an accurate account of positive cases.

COVID-19 testing is being performed at Cameron Memorial Hospital’s Respiratory Clinic and to be screened for testing call the Cameron COVID-19 testing line at 260-667-5555 daily from 8 AM to 8 PM.

The closest Optumserve location is in Nobel County at the Community Learning Center at 401 E. Diamond St, Kendallville, IN. The hours of operation are 8 AM to 8 PM and an appointment is required.
