Another Death In Southwest Michigan From COVID-19

There's been another death attributed to COVID-19 in Southern Michigan.

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says they were told
Thursday afternoon of a second death in Hillsdale County from the coronavirus. CHA Health Officer Rebecca Burns says the second individual is an adult male with several underlying health conditions. She says their heartfelt sympathies and prayers go out to the family who has lost their loved one.

The CHA also announced Thursday there are now 8 cases of COVID-19 in St.
Joseph County. Branch County has 5 cases, along with 17 more at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. Cass County has 6 cases of COVID-19 and one death from the virus. Hillsdale County has 26 cases while Calhoun County has 25 cases of COVID-19 while Kalamazoo County has 34 cases and 1 death.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is reporting there have been 1,457 new cases of COVID-19 since Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 10,791 cases. There were also 80 new deaths reported which means there have been 417 deaths around the state.
