A group of local high schoolers known as Youth Action for Sustainability is reaching out to restaurants in the area and inviting them to a meeting on Thursday night. YAS is a facet of the mayor’s youth council made up of students in various grade levels at Angola High School.


The meeting will be held Thursday night at 7 p.m. in the Angola City Hall. According to a news release, YAS will be offering the restaurants alternatives that can be installed in order to make them more environmentally friendly earning them the YAS certification.


All businesses that are members of YAS will be certified as an environmentally friendly establishment in the community. Signs will be provided, letting clientele know that the restaurants are certified by YAS.
