Northeastern Center opens its new NEC Cares Program to our local community.
The NEC Cares Program is located in the new NEC Community Health & Outreach Center and provides short-term, observation and crisis stabilization services in a home-like, non-hospital setting. NEC Cares is designed to enhance the scope and availability of crisis services in NE Indiana and is available to anyone, from anywhere.
Northeastern Center's Nicole Johnson-Smith and Mike Steigmeyer are with WLKI's Andy St. John. Nicole is the Community Outreach Director for Northeastern Center's Community Health and Outreach Center in Auburn. Mike is the Public Relations Director at Northeastern Center.
Northeastern Center, Inc. has been serving the people of DeKalb, LaGrange, Noble, and Steuben Counties for over 45 years. The agency’s mission is to help individuals achieve emotional and mental wholeness through accessible, affordable, and quality behavioral health services.
The new Community Health and Outreach Center is located in the former Children’s First building, at 1752 Wesley Road, Auburn. It's conveniently adjacent to the current Northeastern Center Auburn campus. The new CHOC building will serve DeKalb County and the surrounding communities as well.
Northeastern Center is expanding and enhancing its existing sub-acute Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Services Program, which serves adults experiencing crisis, in accordance with SAMHSA Best Practices while also implementing a No Wrong Door philosophy.
This program will service Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime.
