(CHICAGO) - Gas prices fell across parts of the Midwest last week -- but Indiana drivers saw the opposite.

GasBuddy says the average price in Indiana rose about 9.7 cents over the week to $2.76 per gallon, even as prices fell hard in neighboring states.

Regionally, GasBuddy pointed to Ohio as one of the biggest weekly movers in the country, down 19.4 cents, with Michigan also posting a steep drop, down 12.7 cents. Nationally, GasBuddy reported the U.S. average fell for a fourth straight week to $2.79 per gallon, with diesel also down to about $3.58. Analysts say high refinery output and increased oil production have helped keep pressure on prices -- though geopolitical flare-ups can still jolt crude prices and filter down to the pump.
