COLDWATER, Mich. (WLKI)- A fire early Tuesday morning caused an estimated $45,000 in damage at Coldwater Fresh Market.

The Coldwater Fire Department was dispatched at about 4:51 a.m. to the business at 373 N. Willowbrook Road. Firefighters arriving at the scene found heavy smoke inside the building and flames coming through a front window.

The Bronson and Quincy fire departments provided automatic aid. Crews were able to bring the fire under control quickly, limiting the damage primarily to the front portion of the store.

Coldwater Fire Marshal Jackie Supianosky said the probable cause of the fire was a chest freezer near the front of the building. Two chest freezers were destroyed, and the store's front window was damaged.

Officials estimated property damage at about $20,000, with another $25,000 in damage to the store's contents.

The Coldwater Police Department also assisted at the scene. No injuries were reported.
