(INDIANA) - As forecasters warn of a potentially dangerous severe weather outbreak today, Indiana Storm Chasers says it is preparing for extended live coverage as storms develop across the state.
The organization says multiple rounds of severe weather are possible, with the greatest concern arriving later this afternoon and evening.
Indiana Storm Chasers warns that damaging winds in excess of 75 miles per hour, large hail and tornadoes are all possible if storms develop as expected.
The group is encouraging residents to use the morning hours to prepare by charging cell phones, enabling emergency alerts and reviewing shelter plans before storms arrive.
Indiana Storm Chasers also reminds residents not to rely solely on outdoor warning sirens, noting that sirens are designed to alert people who are already outdoors.
