(FULTON COUNTY) - Two Indiana State Police troopers and two civilians helped rescue a driver trapped inside a burning vehicle following a crash in Fulton County.

The crash happened the morning of June 9 on State Road 17 near County Road 900 South.

Troopers responding to the scene found a vehicle on its side and on fire with the driver trapped inside. Two nearby residents were already attempting to free the driver when troopers arrived.

The four men were unable to extinguish the fire, which continued to intensify. They then worked together to pull the driver from the vehicle before flames spread into the passenger compartment.

Investigators said the driver suffered a medical emergency that caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn.

The driver was transported to a hospital for treatment.
