(NORTH WEBSTER) - Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening across our area.

Forecasters say the greatest threat is expected between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m., although the exact severity of the storms will depend on how weather conditions develop throughout the day.

Potential hazards include damaging wind gusts exceeding 60 miles per hour, large hail, heavy rainfall and isolated tornadoes.

Forecasters say a nearby warm front could provide the ingredients needed for stronger storms across much of the Midwest, including northern Indiana, northwestern Ohio, and southern Michigan. However, the position of that front and any earlier storm activity could significantly affect the severity of Wednesday's storms.

Before Wednesday's threat develops, a cold front is expected to move through the region today and this evening. That system could bring scattered showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds, although the risk of severe weather today appears limited.

Conditions are expected to become cooler and drier Thursday and Friday, with temperatures returning to the 70s.
