(GARRETT) - Garrett-Keyser-Butler Community School District has selected Michael Reyes as the new assistant principal of J.E. Ober Elementary School.
The school board approved the appointment during its June 15 meeting.
Reyes most recently served as assistant principal at West Noble High School, where he oversaw student support programs, testing coordination, school safety initiatives and teacher evaluations.
Before entering administration, Reyes taught fourth and fifth grade in Indiana, Missouri and Texas, including positions with Goshen Community Schools, the Rockwood School District in Missouri and the Terrell Independent School District in Texas.
Reyes earned a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Purdue University Fort Wayne and is currently pursuing an Education Specialist degree through Indiana Wesleyan University.
He will begin his new role before the start of the 2026-27 school year and will help support students, staff and families as the district prepares to open the new J.E. Ober Elementary School facility.
