(HUDSON, INDIANA) - A Hudson dairy farmer is heading back to the Indianapolis 500 this month -- this time with the honor of handing milk to the winning driver in Victory Circle.

Ashley Stockwell will serve as the 2026 Veteran Milk Presenter at the 110th running of the Indy 500 on May 24th. Stockwell made her debut at the race in 2025 as the Rookie Milk Presenter alongside Kendallville dairy farmer Abbie Herr.

Each year, the American Dairy Association of Indiana selects two dairy farmers to take part in the longtime "Winners Drink Milk" tradition at the Indianapolis 500. The Veteran presenter delivers milk to the winning driver, while the Rookie presenter hands milk to the winning team owner and chief mechanic.

This year's Rookie presenter is Brian Rexing of Owensville.

Stockwell and her husband, Kyle, operate Stockwell Farms in Hudson with their family. The couple have four children.

The Indy 500 milk tradition dates back to 1936, when winning driver Louis Meyer asked for buttermilk after the race. The tradition has since become one of the most recognizable moments in motorsports, with drivers choosing between fat-free, 2%, or whole milk before the race. Whole milk remains the most popular choice among drivers.
